A four year campaign by the Liverpool Daily Post to achieve restoration of a city photographer’s former home has reached fruition thanks to National Trust and National Lottery backing.
The gallery and archive at Edward Chambre Hardman’s studio house is now open to the public at Rodney Street and also incorporates a museum as part of the house’s “living heritage”.


More than 60 people attended an event to rally support for asylum seeker Mansoor Hassan, a journalist who fled Pakistan after he and his family were persecuted and threatened for exposing corruption.
The North and East Manchester Advertiser has started a campaign to keep the family in Britain, and now the National Union of Journalists has taken it on board with support from around the country.


Aberdeen Journals page planner Richard Jaffray has been presented with a watch at the company’s headquarters to mark his 30 years of service.

He invited guests at his birthday bash to make a donation to the We Care and Breast Cancer appeals instead of buying him personal gifts.


Youngsters who deliver the Hull Daily Mail and East Riding Mail have been issued with a pack explaining how to stay safe on the roads.
Local authorities and the police have worked with Mail publications to launch the packs, which give advice on cycle helmets and riding at night.
