Former Daily Record sports editor Jack Adams has died, aged 66.
He died on holiday on the Greek Island of Kos and Ranger legend John Greig paid tribute, saying: “He was always on the go breaking stories and was a man you could trust 100 per cent.”


The Liverpool Echo is giving readers the chance to ask comedy legend Ken Dodd a question in his latest Audience with…-style show in his home city later this month.
The show, which will raise money for Macmillan Cancer Relief, will feature live questions from the audience, and Echo editor Mark Dickinson said: “It’s a double-whammy – an opportunity to see Britain’s greatest comedian, and to raise money for such a splendid cause.”


More fundraising packs have had to be printed for the South Wales Argus Sparkle Appeal – a bid to raise £250,000 towards a £6m centre for disabled children in South Gwent.
The Appeal was launched in December and cheques are being received every day, according to the organisers.


Richard Eyre has been appointed as a non-executive director of Guardian Media Group PLC, which publishes The Guardian, as well as regional newspaper the Manchester Evening News and other evening and weekly papers.
Richard has more than 30 years’ experience in the media industry and said: “I am a strong believer in the values and business of GMG. I hope to add real value to both.”


Postgraduate students from the Professional Writing programme at Falmouth College of Arts have designed and published a website to accompany The Surrealists On Holiday, an exhibition tomark the “invasion” of Cornwall by surrealists which took place in the 1930s.A preview of the show together with a wealth of background information can be found online at www.surrealist-holiday.com.
The exhibition is at Falmouth Art Gallery between June 19 and September 4 and at St Barbe Museum, Lymington December 11 and February 12 2005.
