The Evening Star in Ipswich has seen in the New Year with a new look to its senior team.

A trio of appointments has been made to strengthen the Archant title’s content-gathering operation.

Acting deputy news editor Martin Davey is now news editor, while former news editor Colin Adwent is now chief reporter.

In his new role Colin will lead the reporting team and will also assist in a variety of newsroom management duties.

Meanwhile, Debbie Watson has become features editor after previously holding the post of deputy news editor (features).

Evening Star editor Nigel Pickover said: “I’m delighted that Martin, Colin and Debbie will be driving our content-gathering forward.

“They will significantly strengthen the Star’s content-gathering operation as we move into an exciting and challenging year of development.”
