New recruit looking forward to editing Ham & High

Geoff Martin has been named as the new editor of the Hampstead & Highgate Express Series.

Currently editor of the Belfast Newsletter, Geoff will take over from Ross Lydall who left the Ham & High at the end of May to become local government correspondent on the Evening Standard.

Geoff has been editor of the Northern Ireland daily newspaper the Belfast Newsletter for 12 years, and under his leadership the newspaper has established itself at the heart of moderate pro-union thinking in the Province.

He said it had been a privilege to edit the title and he was sad to be leaving.

However he said that he was looking forward to joining the Archant-owned London weekly.

He said: I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in Belfast but it was time for a change.

“The editorship of the Ham & High series is a wonderful opportunity and I am looking forward to joining the Archant team and editing the Hampstead series in what I believe will be a fruitful partnership.”
