New era for Barry and The Herald

Barry Hunt is hoping to make his mark at The Herald in East Herts after becoming the paper’s new editor.

Together with the rest of the Herald’s editorial team, Barry is currently looking at ways the paper can be improved.

He said: “It’s early days, but we’re looking to give readers something different, and a paper they can enjoy for years to come.”

The 29-year-old is hoping that his appointment will be the start of an exciting new era for the Archant title – which will coincide with a new era in his personal life.

Before joining the Herald, Barry was the chief sub-editor at Autosport magazine based in West London, where he worked for 18 months.

Prior to that he had worked for Archant-owned newspapers for seven years, joining the company as a junior reporter and eventually becoming the chief sub-editor on Archant’s seven titles in Mid-Anglia, which include the Wisbech Standard and Royston Crow.

  • The Herald, which covers East Herts, is a free newspaper published every Thursday, and has a weekly circulation of 37,000.
