The Leicester Mercury has joined forces with the police to hunt down a rapist who attacked on a 15-year-old schoolgirl.

The girl was set upon as she made her way home from the city centre in the early evening.

She was dragged behind bushes off the main road and subjected to an hour-long ordeal.

Now the Leicester Mercury has produced 60 posters featuring a CD-fit image of the attacker.

They are to be displayed by news vendors within a two-mile radius of the attack.

A police spokesman said: “We have had a number of witnesses come forward, but we still need to speak to anyone who may have seen this man.”
