A singer is set to take another step on the road to stardom after winning a talent showcase organised by the Hull Daily Mail.

Martin Jackson stormed to success in the paper’s Talent Trail 2000 in front of 1,400 Mail readers at Hull City Hall.

Following the win, he was invited to open a night of celebration for fellow singer Ian Moore at the city’s New Theatre tomorrow.

TV and radio executives will be among the audience, and music agent Derek Franks told the paper: “This is a great opportunity for another rising star from Hull.”
