Late shift turns up trumps for Standard team

Late night shopping was more than just a late shift on the diary for staff at the Skegness Standard.

They all turned out in Restoration period costumes to scoop first prize in the town’s fancy dress contest.

Visitors to the Standard offices in the town centre enjoyed a drink and a mince pie with staff, who included a rather dapper editor John Cowpe, pictured above with editorial, sales and counter staff.

Other staff at town centre businesses wore an array of costumes.

The evening was organised by the Skegness Retailers Christmas Group and entertainment included clown Adrian Ley, from Lincoln, who stalked the streets on a pair of stilts.
