Heart-Start machines go 'live'

More life-saving defibrillators are about to go out into the community thanks to a long-running appeal at the Aberdeen Evening Express.

A Heart-Start campaign has been running since 1998, raising more than £50,000 for the machines, which can kick-start a heart back into its proper beating rhythm if it begins to go into a severe ‘flutter’.

A strong of defibrillators has already been placed in a number of public locations.

Nine of them were given to Aberdeenshire Council and a home has been found for the first of their set. It will be in placed at Inverurie Swimming Centre.

Committees are to discuss where the rest should go.
