Free Press a shining example

A new campaign to increase road safety for children has been launched by the Fife Free Press.

The paper has produced thousands of reflective stickers to allow youngsters to be seen more clearly by drivers on dark evenings.

Its campaign has received the backing of the police, who are visiting schools to distribute the stickers.

Fife council leader Christine May has also given the scheme her seal of approval.

She said: “It is exceptionally important for school pupils to be seen by drivers.

“The stickers will help motorists see people quite clearly and help cut down on the number of accidents.

“The Fife Free Press should be congratulated on trying to encourage this in schools.”
