Evening News backs people's art

The Cambridge Evening News is backing a local gallery’s appeal for people to translate 21st century life into art.

A wide-ranging exhibition called It’s Your Turn will feature visual and digital art based on people’s reflections on the ordinary man and woman at the beginning of the new Millennium.

The Evening News has agreed to help with the task of finding 1,000 creative people to contribute.

The newspaper has printed an entry coupon and publicised the £1,000 of prizes up for grabs.

Lucy Sheerman, public relations officer for the Kettle’s Yard Gallery, told the paper: “We’ve already had a teacher send in a pair of laddered tights to show what it’s like to be mother and a busy career woman.”

Written works of no more than 100 words are also welcomed.
