A new regional business magazine dedicated to championing and promoting enterprise, has been launched by Trinity Mirror, the publishers of The Journal and the Evening Gazette in the North East.

The glossy, full colour, monthly Enterprise North East is edited by Alastair Gilmour and will include interviews with regional entrepreneurs, information about innovative new products, inspirational case studies and practical funding advice.

He said: “The North East has the lowest business start-up rate in the country and a poor record in small firm failure after three years in operation.

“In partnership with regional development agency One NorthEast, we want to change this and demonstrate the undoubted spirit of enterprise and innovation that the region can offer. Enterprise North East will encourage new and existing companies to develop their potential and also hopefully stimulate others to launch their own business.”

Distribution of more than 10,000 copies will include every university, college, library and school sixth form in the region as well as business support companies, employment services, banks and local authorities.

Trinity Mirror north east general manager, Gary Ramsay added: “The precisely targeted distribution will mean that Enterprise North East gets into the right hands – a key element of our strategy.”
