Chronicle spreads the Sunshine

A campaign launched by the Newcastle Evening Chronicle to help disabled and disadvantaged children has proved so successful that it is being extended.

The Sunshine Fund 2000 Campaign was launched last year, encouraging organisations to hold fund-raising activities and gain good PR. It is now being extended to the end of the year.

Organisations which register to take on the challenge to raise £2,000 are listed on a role of honour printed alongside Millennium Challenge stories in the newspaper.

A page lead each week tells readers about the fund-raising activities being organised by firms, groups and individuals.

The fund provides specially-adapted equipment for disabled and disadvantaged children in the North East. It also helps children in special schools and hospital units, children under the care of other charities, and individual families.
