Yeovil Town football supporters have dug deep for the Fund A Scanner Today appeal run by the Yeovil Express.
A bucket collection coined in the cash during Yeovil’s Nationwide Conference clash with title rivals Doncaster Rovers at Huish Park, which attracted a bumper crowd of 6,674.
The supporters did their bit to support the £20,000 appeal to enable Yeovil District Hospital to buy a new and much-needed scanner to aid in the diagnosis of the bone disease osteoporosis.
A team of collectors, including the club’s Jolly Green Giant mascot, toured the ground and raised £891.
There was also a single cheque donation of £500 to help the collection amass £1,391.
The collection helped swell the FAST appeal’s coffers to about £14,000 – a good effort considering the campaign was only launched at the end of June.
