Team needs new suits

A Sussex newspaper is urging readers to donate the money to get a boat rescue team suited-up for the summer.

The Rye and Battle Observer is hoping to raise the £2,800 needed to buy seven protective drysuits damaged during vital rescues during last October’s floods.

The suits cost £400 each and were ripped while the crew was evacuating residents to safety in Robertsbridge and Chick Hill. They are vital if the Pett Level Rescue Boat team is to stay in operation.
