Scanner total gets higher

A Bone Scanner appeal in north Nottinghamshire is £1,000 better off thanks to a fashion show backed by the local weekly.

The newspaper helped out at a fashion show which raised £1000 for its adopted charity for the year, the Dexa Bone Scanner Appeal.

The show itself was organised by members of Soroptimists International and representatives from House of Fraser.

Appeal co-ordinator Janet Petts said: “It is events like this that are important to us on the appeal committee because everyone can get involved and the appeal really benefits from it.”

The charity was set up to raise funds to equip Bassetlaw hospital with a new bone scanner.

It has already raised enough money for the machine, any new fundraising will go towards changing facilities and additional equipment.

The Guardian features weekly updates on the charity and attends any appeal event that takes place.
