Citizen advises:Be Safe Be Seen

The Blackpool Citizen has teamed up with Leisure Parcs and The Wave to promote a campaign aimed at reducing the number of road traffic accidents involving all pedestrians.

The Blackpool Council Be Safe Be Seen campaign runs from the middle of September and throughout October. It will distribute reflective stickers for bags and coats to all school children in the town as well as a high-rpofile poster display in schools. He council is offering armbands and reflective accessories for £1.

Another issue at the heart of the campaign is the latest mini-scooter craze which has claimed at least one life so far in the region. The paper will encourage people using scooters to wear reflective clothing so they can be seen.
