BT Welsh Press and Broadcast Awards 2000
by HoldTheFrontPage staff
Business Journalist of the Year
This category produced a high standard of entries with writers on low-circulation papers submitting work equal to that from organisations with much greater resources.
Winner: Mark Currie, Daily Post. Judges said his three “first-class” pieces showed that he was “an incisive writer with the ability to elucidate and edify in equal measure”.
Highly commended: David Parkin (Western Mail) and Simon Newsam (Total Wales). Both conducted interviews with real insight, the judges said.
