Bedford newspapers launch Scorpion appeal

The names and faces of people wanted in connection with violent crime are to be printed in two Bedfordshire newspapers.

Both the Luton Herald & Post and the Bedford Times & Citizen will be printing the photographs of people wanted by police for questioning as well others wanted under warrant.

The appeal is the latest move in Bedford Police’s Operation Scorpion campaign which has been running for five years.

Detective Supt Mac McCulley, who is the co-ordinator for all Scorpion activities said: “I hope those who are named will now come forward and give themselves up for questioning.

“All their friends and family will now know the police are interested in talking to them and they really have nothing to lose by calling us and trying to sort the matter out.”
