A Yorkshire Evening Post reader has enabled a couple to become a family – by giving them the baby of their dreams.

In April last year a desperate appeal for an egg donor was made through the paper after a couple had been unsuccessfully trying for a baby for seven years.

The couple have this week delivered a huge message of thanks through the Post to the anonymous donor, who stepped forward after reading their story. They had previously paid out a small fortune for fertility treatment, all to no avail.

The couple have featured in several exclusive stories since then and now have a precious baby boy.

The paper has revealed how more than 30 women called to offer the couple the chance to conceive after their plight was featured. The one chosen was the closest physical match to Julie.

There is now a possibility that several of those who responded to the appeal could donate eggs to other childless women.
