A Sun-ny Christmas?

The Institute of Public Relations in Scotland has created a spoof Sun front page to plug their up-and-coming Christmas event.

Matt Bendoris and John Kirkby, from the paper’s Scottish team, are giving PR execs an insight into what makes a great tabloid feature. The talk and drinks event will take place in Glasgow on December 3.

The Institute’s Scottish publicity man is former newspaper journalist Adrian Mahoney, who was chief reporter of The Falkirk Herald for six years and also dabbled in shifts for The Sun’s Scottish rival, The Daily Record. He now runs the PR and publishing business, The PR Store.

He said: “It seems odd that someone who used to sub for the Record is now putting together spoof Sun pages.

“But it was good to get back to newspaper design. Hopefully the fun flyer will encourage more people to attend the event.”
