The Aberdeen Press and Journal has learned that one of its most avid readers is a two-year-old dog called Millie.

The dog’s owner, Kathleen Morrison, was amazed to discover that Millie liked to read the Journal… when she spotted the dog looking over her shoulder.

Mrs Morrison said: “I always come down in the morning to a huge welcome from Millie and then I will sit down with a cup of tea to read the paper and Millie usually sits on my knee and joins me.

“But when I looked recently, it looked like she was actually reading the paper as well.

“Her favourite stories are usually animal-based ones and, in particular, the horse racing on Friday,” added Mrs Morrison.
