Entries are now being accepted for this year’s Circulation, Editorial and Promotions Awards, run by the Newspaper Society.

Previously known as the Newspaper Sales and Promotions Awards, the event has been rebranded to recognise the increasingly collaborative roles of circulation and editorial in regional press excellence.

The competition rewards the best circulation initiatives, editorial content and promotions ideas within the industry, and among this year’s editorial categories are community newspaper of the year, regional newspaper of the year, journalist of the year, young journalist of the year, photographer of the year and young photographer of the year.

There will also be a prize for the best design and layout on a regional title and the best Local Newspaper Week initiative.

A new category for the best regional magazine of the year has also been introduced, with judges looking for quality editorial content, good use of photography and innovative treatment of advertising.

The closing date for entries is Friday, February 4, and the winners will be announced during a ceremony at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole, on Monday, April 4.
