Rare honour for Gazette's Jacquie

Western Gazette managing director Jacquie Dean has been awarded the Fellowship of University College Yeovil.

The honour was presented during a ceremony in Yeovil, in recognition of her work in the community and the newspaper’s close relationship with the college.

It is only the third time in the history of UCY that the honour of Fellow has been bestowed.

  • Jacquie with Yeovil College principal James Hampton
  • Jacquie, (55), said: “It is a great privilege to receive such an honour.

“This is a great time to be involved in business in Yeovil and its hinterland with much to celebrate over the past few years and so much opportunity to improve the town for the future.

“The development of educational opportunities at Yeovil College and the investment that has been made in the new University centre is a very exciting milestone in the town’s history.”

Jacquie has been managing director at the Western Gazette since 2000. She is also a member of the Yeovil Vision committee, which is looking at the strategic development of the town for 2025.
