Newspaper journalists show they are the 'business'

Journalists from the Yorkshire Post and the Wakefield Express were among the winners at this year’s npower Northern Business Journalist Awards.

Greg Wright from the Yorkshire Post picked up £1,000 after scooping the Daily Newspaper Journalist of the Year title for his research into a mushroom growers revolt against a large national supermarket chain following abuse of its power.

And Sam Casey of the Wakefield Express collected the title for Weekly Newspaper Journalist of the Year after judges praised his “excellent” research into the closure of one of Wakefield’s oldest employers and how the buy-out of one of the city’s biggest employers could create hundreds of new jobs.
