Proving yet again its ability to win award after award, the News Shopper swept the board at this year’s Newsquest (London) annual prize-giving.

The Petts Wood-based series of free newspapers picked up another shelf of top awards including Free Newspaper of the Year and Overall Newspaper of the Year.

Delighted editor Andrew Parkes said the awards only confirmed what he already knew: “I’ve got a great team doing a great job.”

He added: “Naturally, I’m delighted with our success and that the work of our team has been recognised. It was a fantastic awards ceremony – I think the best we’ve held in London.”

The awards, held at the Tower Thistle Hotel in London, were attended by more than 170 people.

Hosted by Roger Mills, regional managing director of Newsquest (London), other guests included John Banks, regional managing director of Newsquest (South-West) and Steve Long, Newsquest’s print director.
