The Foreign Press Association Media Awards 2003 – which have had a record number of entries this year – will take place next month in London.
The presentation dinner will be attended by HRH The Earl of Wessex, KCVO, leading members of the Government, celebrities and media personalities.
Broadcaster and comedian Clive Anderson will compere the event on November 25 at the Sheraton Park Lane Hotel in Piccadilly.
The Association is an independent professional body representing over 700 correspondents in London and over a thousand international news organisations.
The FPA Media Awards are dedicated to excellence in foreign reporting and other areas of serious journalism, and are given to print and broadcast journalists.
Association president Catherine Mayer said: “The role of journalism in observing, questioning, analysing and documenting events has never been more important than it is today. Meanwhile, the working environment for journalists is becoming tougher.
“These Awards recognise not only the skills involved in telling stories well, but also the difficulty, sometimes even the danger, which research entails.”

They will be judged by a panel which includes broadcaster Sue MacGregor, President Clinton’s former advisor James Rubin, Economist editor Bill Emmott and a team of eminent judges whose combined experience of reporting world affairs covers all major events in the past three decades.
