Last chance to scoop £2,000

Journalists hoping to be in with a chance of winning £2,000 have until the end of the week to get their entries in to this year’s Science Writers’ Awards.

Organised by the Association of British Science Writers, the annual event rewards writers who have produced high quality science journalism and have highlighted important issues with bravery and flair.

There are seven categories which encompass all forms of media, including prizes for the best feature on a science subject in a national or regional newspaper; the best investigative journalism on a science subject; and the best science writing on the world wide web.

Each category carries a cash prize of £2,000, and winners will be announced during a presentation in July.

The closing date for entries is 5pm on January 31.

Entry forms and more details can be found at www.absw.org.uk.
