Journalism talent of the future makes student awards' shortlist

The shortlist for this year’s National Student Journalism Awards has been revealed.

Among the nominees is Cardiff University’s Gair Rhydd and University of London’s London Student, which will compete with Nouse and York Vision from the University of York and Cherwell of Oxford University for the sought after title of Best Student Newspaper of the year.

Students from universities and colleges across the UK have also reached the shortlist in the competition, organised by the National Union of Students and the Daily Mirror, with other categories including Best Student Feature Writer and Best Student Reporter.
