If you haven't got a ticket – you're too late!

Tickets for next month’s West Midlands Media Awards have sold out.

Birmingham Press Club will be holding its first media awards night at the city’s Burlington Hotel on Thursday, March 20.

And organisers say interest in the event, which will be hosted by former Sun editor Kelvin MacKenzie and Carlton TV presenter Bob Warman, has been phenomenal.

Andrew Sparrow, chairman of Birmingham’s Press Club, said: “There’s been a tremendous amount of interest in the awards.

“We received more than 250 entries from local journalists and the media they represent, which is absolutely fantastic. We look forward to a great night on March 20.”

However, the organisers say that care has been taken to ensure that everyone on the list of nominees is able to get a ticket. A small number have been kept in reserve for any nominees who have not yet responded.

During the evening 13 awards will be handed out, covering all forms of media, from newspapers to broadcasting and the Internet.
