HoldtheFrontPage in line for digital media gong

HoldtheFrontPage is among the nominees for this year’s Newspaper Society Digital Media Awards.

Your favourite journalism website has once again made the shortlist for the prestigious event, which recognises the best digital media initiatives from the industry.

We have been nominated every year since the launch of HTFP, receiving certificates of merit in 2002 and 2000, and scooping the overall crown for Best Niche Internet Site (Commercial) at last year’s event.

Nine awards are set to be handed out this year – during a Masquerade Ball which will be held at The Midland Hotel in Manchester on Thursday, October 14.

And among the other nominees – who are up for one or more awards – is the Accrington Observer, Eastern Daily Press, York Evening Press, Lancashire Evening Post, Manchester Evening News, Blackpool Gazette and Northcliffe Electronic Publishing.

The event will also see awards handed out in various advertising and marketing categories.

Judges included Tim Burrowes, editor of Media Week, Danny Meadows-Klue, chief executive of the Internet Advertising Bureau, Ian Campbell, head of information for business at the Press Association, and Mark Sinclair, managing partner at SMRS in Manchester.
