Hard-working news staff are honoured at gala event

Northcliffe Newspapers has rewarded the hard work of its staff at a special gala evening and awards ceremony.

The group’s best editorial campaigns, initiatives and sale generating ideas were recognised at its internal Circulation, Editorial and Promotion Awards.

Among the winners was Hull Daily Mail reporter Rick Lyon, who was named NNG Reporter of the Year, and Western Daily Press picture editor Jon Mills, who scooped the award for NNG Photographer of the Year.

The Derby Evening Telelgraph also scored a success, with its Hands off our trains campaign chosen as the Best Editorial Campaign, and Staffordshire-based The Sentinel picked up two editorial gongs, for Scoop of the Year and Front Page of the Year.
