EDF Energy South West Media Awards

Entries are now being sought for the new EDF Energy South West Media Awards, which are being held in conjunction with HoldtheFrontPage.

Invitations have gone out to journalists across the region to attract the very best work from regional newspapers, radio and television.

We know that the editorial talent is out there – all we need is your help to let us highlight your work on HoldtheFrontPage – and you could be in with a chance of winning one of the £100 top prizes. Trophies are on offer for the winning newspapers.

The awards presentation event itself will be held at the British Empire and Commonwealth Museum in Bristol, a historic venue housed within Isambard Kingdom Brunel’s Old Station, in the heart of the city’s Temple Quay area.

Andrew Brown, head of media relations at EDF Energy, said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring these awards.

“EDF Energy – and our regional brand SWEB Energy – have strong local ties with the area. This new initiative builds on these links.

“The EDF Energy South West Media Awards provide a wonderful opportunity for the talent of local print and broadcast journalists to be recognised more fully.”

HoldtheFrontPage publisher Patrick Astill said: “We hope all branches of the local media will embrace the contest with the same enthusiasm and dynamism with which they carry out their day-to-day work.

“EDF Energy has generously sponsored this exciting new series of awards and we will all be working hard to make this competition and the ceremony the success it deserves to be.”

All shortlisted nominees and their colleagues will be invited to lunch and drinks as a guest of the sponsors, EDF Energy, on June 16.
