CIN staff celebrate

Staff at Central Independent Newspapers have been celebrating at the company’s annual awards ceremony.

Each year they are rewarded for their hard work, dedication and commitment.

Among the winners was Tamworth Herald sports editor Rob Tanner who collected the Scoop of the Year award for his exclusive revelations that Tamworth Football Club were moving to a new, purpose built stadium.

All those singled out for their contribution in maintaining the group’s high standards are below:

Scoop of the Year

  • Winner: Rob Tanner, Tamworth Herald, for his story about Tamworth FC leaving their home after 50 years

  • Winner: Paul Barber, Tamorth Herald, for a picture of a tiny tortoise posed next to a 50p piece to show perspective
  • Highly commended: Paul Kyte, Sutton Coldfield Observer, for a picture of Prince Charles

    Junior Journalist of the Year

  • Winner: Alex Keller, Lichfield Mercury
  • Highly commended: Luke Dicicco, Walsall Advertiser

    Journalist of the Year

  • Winner: Ben Bentley, Sutton Coldfield Observer
  • Highly commended: Andy Kerr, Lichfield Mercury

    Production Team of the Year
