Charity prize for Yorkshire Evening Post

The Yorkshire Evening Post has won an award from one of the country’s leading children’s charities.

It was presented with the NCH Media Award at the charity’s annual Challenge to Care Awards for supporting its Young Achievers Awards during the past ten years.

The paper beat runners-up OK! magazine and Computer Weekly for the prize.

The presentation evening was hosted by newsreaders Krishnan Guru-Murthy and Felicity Barr and attracted more than 200 top companies, charitable trusts and individuals to the British Museum in London.

The awards are now in their 12th year and are held as a ‘thank you’ to NCH supporters for raising funds and supporting the charity.

Sarah Lock, head of company fundraising at NCH, said: “Our supporters show fantastic commitment in providing NCH with the means to help the children who need it the most.

“Challenge to Care gives us the chance to celebrate some of the most innovative and successful fundraising initiatives of the past year.”
