A regional paper is offering its readers beer, chips and cut-price shopping.

The Gazette, Blackpool, has launched a loyalty card giving holders discounts on items at participating businesses.

The first 1,000 to apply for the Gold Card by filling in a coupon in the paper will get a camera worth £4.99 and entry to a draw in which they could win a seven-night winter sun holiday. They will also be entitled to claim a free pint of beer, a free portion of chips, free entry to Blackpool Tower and a free packet of seeds.

From March 9, the paper will publish money-saving offers, which can be cut out and redeemed using the Gold Card.
