Another purchase for Iliffe News and Media

Iliffe News and Media has bought Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire Property Advertiser.

It is the latest in a series of acquisitions by Iliffe, advised by Simon Gillings at Ernst and Young's Cambridge office.

He said: "The successful acquisition of this title continues Iliffe News and Media's strategy of identifying opportunities to expand and cement the geographic coverage of the group's regional newspaper portfolio."

Graham Ayers, Iliffe finance director, said: "Acquisition of the The Advertiser series, together with the other acquisitions we have completed over the last 15 months will further strengthen our position as one of the leading regional newspaper publishers in the UK."

The Advertiser was launched in Hitchin in 1997 as a property publication, with subsequent editions in Stevenage, Welwyn Garden City and Biggleswade.
