Boosting your text appeal

Readers with burning issues to discuss can make use of a new way to communicate with the Evening Chronicle in Newcastle.

The paper has launched a text message service for readers to send in their news and comments.

Tapping a few handset keys could result in comments going to the letters page or the popular "Vent Your Spleen column, where readers can sound off about an issue that affects them.

The Chronicle launched its new service under a Joys of Text banner headline - encouraging people to "spice up their text life".
