Black-tie event hosted by Gazette

A prestigious black-tie event is to be the latest fundraising push for the Rhys Daniels Trust Home From Home Appeal.

The Brentwood Gazette series will be hosting the third annual Brentwood Banquet, with proceeds going to the appeal, which has already raised £28,000.

The Home from Home appeal was set up in memory of young Rhys and his sister Charly, who died from Batten's disease.

Its aim is to build homes at major children's hospitals around the country where parents can stay when their children are getting long-term treatment.

The current situation leaves many parents having to find bed and breakfast accommodation if they want to stay near their sick children.
